In my opinion, Every Student Succeed Act, (ESSA) is an improvement of the No Child Left Behind, (NCLB) for so many reasons. With the new law, ESSA, there has been a big progress in important areas throughout the years. For example, according to article, Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA), in many high schools, the graduation rates as been high since ESSA has came in effect. The dropout rates has gotten low. Which is a good thing. There are more students going into college. With the old law, NCLB, they had requirements that were not working for the schools and the educators. Which is why the graduation rates were really low and the dropout rates increased those years when the NCLB was in effect. This is why I think that the ESSA is an improvement of NCLB due to their big progress in the schools and their graduation rates.
