Please structure your response paragraphs in the following way:
Think about the reactions you had to the chapter as well as the questions that were brought up while you read it, and choose one of those areas to be the focus of your topic sentence; if you’re struggling with that, look for patterns that you see in the text (connections between important ideas and details) to state a topic sentence that examines the text from a different perspective. Whatever you choose, your thoughts on the chapter can be positive, negative, or both and can include one of the following:
Your thoughts about what the author said
Whether you agree or disagree
How the information in the text relates to other things you’ve read or heard
What you think is most important about the text
What questions you have or what makes you want to know more
Supporting Sentences: Develop your topical response paragraph by supporting your topic sentence with 2-3 examples from the text. The examples you use should show that you know the text well and have thought about it beyond a superficial reading. Also, show the reader (your instructor) why your examples supports your topic sentence.
